The Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre began the Bishop's Annual Appeal in 1978. The parishioners of all the parishes within the diocese provide funds that help support Diocesan programs and services, including Catholic Charities, educational programs and the parishes of the diocese. Through the Parish Sharing Program, each parish receives a rebate of 25% when pledge payments reach the diocesan assigned goal and a rebate of 75% of payments received in excess of the goal. The St. Elizabeth Bishop's Annual Appeal Committee coordinates the Appeal at the parish level. Members of the Committee plan mailings, write up pulpit and bulletin announcements, organize and maintain tables during "sign-up Sundays", speak at Mass, recruit and train volunteers for the telephone campaign and evaluate the year's appeal efforts. The Bishop celebrates a mass to kick-off the Appeal and the Diocese provides brochures, sample letters and suggested time lines as well as training sessions

The Building and Grounds volunteers work on various projects that maintain and enhance the grounds and facilities of our parish. Specific projects may include cleanup, landscaping, painting, and repair. These volunteers just need a willingness to do hands-on work and enjoy being outdoors. This group meets as projects develop; projects usually take place in the spring and fall.

The Sorting and Stapling volunteers prepare and process mailings to the parish families, allowing them to receive information in a timely fashion. These volunteers need to be free during the day and have a spirit of working together in assembling the parish mailing. General mailings to our parishioners occur a few times a year, depending on the needs of the parish.
