Youth Ministry
This ministry ministers to the high school youth of our parish, providing Christian ethics and a wholesome atmosphere. Members assist at weekly meetings, retreats, bike trips, work projects and at the Vacation Bible Camp
The Pre-Cana Ministry assists engaged couples as they prepare for marriage. The Pre-Cana Team presents twelve topics over six sessions (two Sundays before the 12 noon mass and four Thursday evenings each Fall and Spring). To prepare for the program, the married couples attend a training program to learn the "art of facilitation". The six Pre-Cana sessions help engaged couples develop a strong faith and learn the skills needed for a successful marriage in today's world. During the sessions, the married couples share their faith, practical information and life experiences. In addition, there is interaction between the married couples and engaged couples which is designed to stimulate discussion between partners. The activities and discussions are enjoyable and enable all the participants, married and engaged, to deepen their faith and understanding of each other. If you are thinking about getting married at St. Elizabeth Church the first step in planning a wedding is to call the parish secretary (631-271- 4455) to arrange for an appointment with a priest or deacon. During that meeting you will discuss the rest of the process, including rules and regulations and information on Pre-Cana.
Members of this committee journey with those adults who are unbaptized and those who have been baptized into another Christian tradition through four formation periods: Inquiry, Catechumenate, Enlightenment and Mystagogia. They provide settings for scripture sharing, faith sharing and education on the Catholic faith. Members plan entry rites into the Catholic Church.
