Stewardship and Evangelization Ministries

Hospitality Ministry

Contact info: JoAnn Messina

The Hospitality Committee members coordinate and prepare guidelines for weekend after-Mass hospitality. They enjoy hosting hospitality every fifth or sixth weekend and are available to help all other Ministries during their sponsoring weekends. The Committee meets a few times a year to offer suggestions on how to improve hospitality, how to help keep the kitchen clean and organized, etc. They are happy to provide hospitality after special liturgies, events and upon request of the Parish. They are always welcome to new suggestions, ideas and of course new members that want to join!

Stewardship MInistry

Contact info: Patricia Kodubinsky

The Stewardship Ministry promotes the spirituality of Stewardship throughout the year. The Ministry plans and carries out the stewardship efforts of time, talent and treasure on an annual basis. Members are responsible for publicizing stewardship in the bulletin and in mailings and for recruiting individuals and couples to share their personal testimonies about stewardship with the parishioners. They keep the Catalog of Ministries current, coordinate the Ministry Fair, encourage volunteerism and ensure that those who volunteer are contacted. The Stewardship Ministry encourages the parish to expand its focus beyond the parish boundaries.

Parish Neighborhood Movement (PNM)

The model of being a church has been shifting necessarily away from a top-down vertical and hierarchical one where Team members do direct service to parishioners. We have come to understand that all baptized Catholics are ministers of the Good News. And a new model, that is more horizontal, is emerging where Team members train lay leaders or couples to develop ministry teams to engage target populations.

The Parish Neighborhood Movement (PNM) is a model that the Pastoral Team and Pastoral Council have been developing for since 1999. It is a way of fostering a caring, faith-centered, and warmly hospitable climate in our parish. We believe that this can best be accomplished by creating geographical communities within the larger parish. Neighbor to neighbor ministry has been happening on the grassroots level for decades. Why not organize “intentional communities” to promote more effectively this sense of belonging and loving concern?

What we will have created is a neighborhood ministry system that continues and supports the good works of our parishioners and ministries. The result would be increased by friendly personal contact between neighbors and the parish leadership. Parish Neighborhood Movement is as old as the Church. It is an organized reaching out, quickly, consistently and effectively to demonstrate the love and understanding of God in the neighborhood.

Trained local parishioners will be seen as shepherds for their community but everyone in the parish will be more aware of and interested in bringing the “Church into the neighborhood.” The hope is that more parishioners will be reached and become involved; that the presence of Christ will be more visible; and that communication among parishioners and between them and parish leadership, will be encouraged and enhanced.
