Sacraments
Arranging your Child’s Baptism
Baptism is celebrated on the second and fourth Sundays at 1:30pm. Parents should be registered as regular parishioners. You are welcome to call or email the Center prior to the birth of your baby to facilitate arrangements and the preparation class.
Setting a Wedding Date
It is best to make arrangements at least six months in advance, prior to setting the date for your reception. Call or email the Center for an appointment with the Priest or Deacon you wish to witness your wedding. We encourage you to read our Marriage FAQ as well.
Going to Confession
Confessions are heard
in our church reconciliation room on Saturdays from 4 until 4:45 p.m. or by appointment. Please call the
Center for a convenient hour or email the
Center.
Receiving Sacrament of the Sick
No longer called Last Rites, this
sacrament is celebrated after the noon Mass on the first Sunday
of the month and by appointment through the Center.
You are eligible to be anointed if you are seriously ill; about
to undergo a difficult operation; or suffering the effects of advanced
age.
This sacrament, like all sacraments,
is for the living. The Church prays for recovery from grave illness.
Planning a Loved Ones Funeral
St. Elizabeth parish is eager to assist the family at the difficult time of the loss of a loved one. Our Consolation Ministry is available to help with the planning, and is present at the funeral mass to guide the family during the liturgy.
Many families wish to plan the funeral liturgy for their loved one. When they make the arrangements with the local funeral director, the materials for planning are given them at that time. The funeral home will also fax St. Elizabeth with the details that the family has decided upon.
Planning Your Loved One's Funeral: Booklet with Questionaire
During the funeral mass the family can choose the first and second readings that are proclaimed during the liturgy of the word. Should a family member or friend who is Catholic feel comfortable in doing one of the readings, they are encouraged to do so. Also included in this booklet are suggested hymns to be sung during the mass.
Funeral Readings Booklet
Words of Remembrance (eulogy) are most appropriately shared at the wake. Should a Catholic family member wish to prepare a eulogy, the parish policy will assist them. The prepared text is submitted to the parish the day before the funeral mass.
